Will I be able to read the novels for free?
The first week — five chapters — of each novel will be available for free; the full novels will be available by paid subscription only.

Why aren’t the novels free?
Quality. We don’t want to publish the kinds of novels that authors are giving away for free just to get published. In order to attract serious authors and acquire top quality manuscripts, we need to be in a position to offer advances and royalties that fit with current market values.

Can I just buy the whole novel as an eBook or print book?
After serialization is complete, each novel will be available as an e-book. Readers who subscribed to the novel as a serial will receive the e-book at no extra charge as part of their subscription, and the e-book will also be available for non-subscribers to purchase. Every Day Publishing may also offer the novel in a bound print format after serialization is complete, if interest and circumstances warrant it.

What does my subscription purchase include?
Each novel will consist of 60 to 80 chapters, delivered five days a week (Monday to Friday) by email and online over 12 to 16 weeks. After serialization is complete, all subscribers will receive a PDF or e-book version of the complete novel to keep. Your subscription also includes access to private subscribers-only areas of our discussion forums, and possibly other unadvertised surprise benefits such as prize draws, author chats, and/or extra story material not included in the e-book or print book.

If I pay for a subscription, where does my money go?
Most importantly, the largest percentage of the subscription fee goes to the author, and a smaller amount goes to Every Day Publishing’s capital fund to help support ongoing development as well as the free stories and poems that we offer. The rest is divided up to pay for editorial costs and services, website-related costs and services, marketing costs and services, and financial costs and services.

Why isn’t there an option to receive subscription installments via RSS feed?
Unfortunately, the difficulties involved in providing a secure subscription-only RSS feed make it impossible for us to offer that as an option at this time.

I’ve missed the start of serialization; can I still subscribe and will there be a discount?
Yes, you can still subscribe, but serialization will be ongoing — we can’t start over for you — so it will be up to you to read the chapters you missed and catch up. All previously released chapters will be available online for catch-up reading or re-reading. There is no discount for missing the start, as you are still getting the whole novel (including the PDF or eBook at the conclusion of serialization).

Will it cost less to wait and just buy the e-book after serialization is complete?
Not necessarily. Since serialization is our primary purpose — it defines Every Day Novels and sets us apart from other e-book and print book publishers — we want the purchasing advantage to be with our subscribers. Subscribing, even if you don’t actually read the novel until it comes out as a complete e-book at the end, is to your advantage — subscribers will receive the e-book before it is available to the general public, and we fully expect the retail e-book pricing to be higher than the cost of subscription. It is possible that our e-books may at some point be on sale at a discounted price below the cost of subscription, but don’t count on it.

What forms of payment do you accept?
At the moment, we are using PayPal for all online payments. Even if you do not have a PayPal account, you can use your credit card to make a payment through the PayPal interface.

I can’t or won’t use PayPal; do I have any other options?
Please contact us with the specifics of your difficulty or concern and we will do our best to help you. Please note, however, that our process is optimized for online payments through PayPal, and alternative arrangements may involve delayed subscription activation and/or service charges.

Can I get a refund if I don’t like the novel?
You may contact us to request a refund at any point before or during the first two weeks (ten chapters) of serialization. Please note that all transaction fees are the purchaser’s responsibility and will be subtracted from the refunded amount. No refunds will be granted for any reason once the eleventh chapter is released.
